Miscarriages of Justice Organisation
MOJO 2008
MOJO is a voluntary sector non profit making organisation and a registered Charity. MOJO is dedicated to promoting healthy change in the criminal justice system. Changes that will reduce the number of miscarriages of criminal justice across the United Kingdon and increase the level of professional after-care for victims.
In Scotland, MOJO delivers a post release support service to victims and their families. This project is financially supported by the Scottish Government.
2008 .... Moving on...
- Government provision of re-integration and quality after care for wrongly imprisoned victims of miscarriage of justice remains a key objective..
- A steady increase in the number of people claiming wrongful conviction and a decrease in legal services provision due to changes in Legal Aid is an ongoing challenge for 2008..
- The reduction in funding for the English CCRC will further limit the Commission's abilitiy to meet the full challenge of miscarriages of criminal justice.
- The need for post conviction case-work provision and proper support and information for families will be subject of evidence based research during 2008.
